Safe for people, dangerous for ants

I asked Cameron to fetch me some sissors, and when he returned with them he was doing the right thing and pointing the sharp end at the ground.

"Well done - good you pointed them at the ground," I commended.

He replied, "And all the ants said 'Aaaaaaaargh!'"
